Come Into the Calm
An Autumn Sound Immersion in the Forest Room
As the days grow shorter and the light begins to change, evenings arrive a little earlier. Nature seems to quietly remind us that there is a time for activity—and a time for slowing down.
But our minds don’t always follow nature’s rhythm.
Our thoughts can keep moving from one thing to the next—planning, remembering, worrying, solving—while our bodies may be asking us to pause, breathe, and rest.
Join me in the beautiful Forest Room at Paths to Restoration for Come Into the Calm, a restorative Sound Immersion designed to give your body and mind space to slow down and settle.
Surrounded by the peaceful feeling of the forest and stars, we’ll use breath, stillness, Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls, and other therapeutic instruments to explore Music as Medicine and support the nervous system’s natural relaxation response.
Our thinking and doing mind is a little like the gas pedal of a car. We need it—it helps us move through our lives. But when we become accustomed to keeping our foot on the gas, our bodies may spend too much time in a state of alertness and activity.
This experience is an invitation to gently ease your foot off the gas.
To breathe a little deeper.
To notice your body.
To allow the mind to become quieter.
And to experience what it feels like to simply be here.
We cannot always change the pace or demands of the world around us. But we can learn practices that help us regulate our own nervous system and create more calm within ourselves giving us the space to move through life feeling calmer and more focused.
Perhaps, as nature begins its own seasonal slowing, we can allow it to remind us to do the same.
Come into the forest.
Come into the stillness.
Come into the calm.
No experience is necessary. Come as you are, with an open mind and a willingness to rest. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me (337) 278-6677 or e-mail—lissee@lisseespiller.com
